Rainy season brings both good and bad things to any individual. When it comes to our roofing system, it can be disastrous especially for older materials as water may drip inside the house. However, with the help of a silicone sealant product, you can sleep through the night with no worries of water damages to the roof. This product is commonly used on preventing such problems on the roofing system due to its adhesive property which is at the same time heat resistant and can be molded to your desired shape.

Using a silicone sealant can sometimes be a messy work as it commonly sticks to your skin especially with those unnoticed moments where you sleep some of the solution on some area of your body. Although we wear protective gears such as hand gloves, garments, and other parts to cover our skin, accidents do happen from time to time. Removing the sealant though can be an easy task. Follow the guide below and you will be amazed on how simple and quick you can work on peeling off the sealing product from your skin.

  • Wash With Soap – before working on the task of removing the sealant from your skin, make sure that your body is clean. Use your ideal body soap to clean dirt and debris off your skin. Carefully try on wiping off larger chunks of the silicone sealant from your body. Be very careful though as to prevent any discomfort and pain during the process. Upon washing, you can also use a gentle scrub to help with the cleaning and clearing procedure.
  • Rub – gently rub the sealant off your skin using a piece of cloth with soap and water. This process can clean and remove some parts of the sealant which will leave smaller stains of the product. Repeat this until you have removed those that can be peeled off using this basic cleaning method.
  • Use Acetone – yes, this is the product used on cleaning off nail polishes. Make sure that you don’t use too much on your skin by pouring an appropriate amount on a piece of cotton. Do not pour the solution directly on your skin as this may cause reactions to some skin types. Rub the cotton in a circular motion and repeat until the sealant peels off as you continue the swiping movement. Always remember that acetone may leave your skin dry and dull. Make sure that you apply moisturizer afterwards to bring back the freshness of your skin.
  • Rinse – after you have cleaned the sealant off your body, you can now rinse with clean water to remove the chemical product. Make sure that you have washed properly to prevent any residue from sticking to your skin.

Although there are methods for peeling off silicone sealants from skin, wearing protective gears to prevent any contact with chemical products is still highly advised. This will not only leave you hassle-free but it will also ensure the safety of your health as well.
